From levels 1 to 20 you should probably use your newbie armor quest armor or banded armor or bronze armor bought from the bazzar. To get money for banded or bronze go to the money section. Any weapon with a good ratio would be fine probably 50pp or cheaper. Once you hit 20 you should probably buy some lambent armor and a centi short sword from the bazzar. You can also buy instruments from the bazaar pretty easily just get some money. Sorry my equipment guide isn't much, but I was twinked and I don't know much about getting armor or weapons for newer characters.
